Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need  to create an account to attend a class?

Yes! All students must have a unique online account associated with a unique email address. Friends and family members may not share the same email address. We encourage you to sign up using our website or app prior to your first visit to save time at check in and secure your space in class. Must be at least 13 years old to attend class.

Should I sign up for class ahead of time?

Signing up for class is quick, simple, and makes showing up to practice an easy seamless process. You can check the schedule online and register or purchase class credits or memberships beforehand. This will ensure your space in class is held. by booking online, your space is reserved until 2 minutes before class begins. if you are not present and checked in by the 2 minute mark, your space will be given to a waitlist student.

Do you have an introductory offer?

Our intro offer is $54 for one month of unlimited yoga at HYH. Try all the classes to get a feel for the community. Available for the first visit, only one per student is permitted. All promotions are non-transferable and non-returnable and cannot be shared, paused or extended.

Do you offer any free classes?

Yes! We offer a free meditation class on the first monday of every month at 7:30pm. We also offer free classes on various holidays and local events. Please check our schedule for live updates.

It’s my first time, How early should I arrive?

please arrive roughly 10-15 minutes early for your first visit. This will allow enough time for registration and a brief orientation or questions before class begins. We encourage you to sign in online which will save you time at check-in and secure your space in class. doors open 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Please be respectful of students currently in practice while you wait for your class to begin.

Where do I park my car/bike?

There is paid street parking all along Mckenzie and Harris between 9th and 11th. There are also some 2 hour free parking spots along Larabee between 10th and 12th. We also have a bike rack located right outside the studio. Fairhaven is a very walkable area. We are located just off the urban greenway trail to marine park.

Do you allow late admittance?

For safety reasons, we do not allow late admittance. Leaving class early is also strongly discouraged. Please be aware of this policy and plan accordingly. 

What should I wear?

We are a casual and cozy studio. Some classes are warm and sweaty, some are not. For warmer classes, you may dress to your own needs and comfort. simple, breathable clothing that you can move freely in. For some of our cooler classes (such as space and sound) you may prefer to have loose/layered clothing. 

What is the temperature of the studio?

Temperature varies upon class style, size and pace. Our space is equipped with radiantly heated floors that provide a gentle warmth beneath your mat. Solar classes are infused with infrared heat around 80f with lunar and bhakti classes around 75f. The space and sound classes are generally cooler between 70-75f. Fans and windows provide fresh air and circulation.

Do you play music in classes?

While music is a central component of our studio, some teachers may or may not choose to play music during classes. The bhakti and sound classes feature live instruments.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat or towel?

You are welcome to bring anything that supports your practice. We have a small selection of premium rental mats for a $3+tax but encourage bringing your own mat if possible. For those on the sweatier side please bring a sufficient yoga towel to help with any slipping as we do not offer towel rentals.

Do you have any props  available for use?

We have a wide selection of high quality yoga props for communal use: cork blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets and sandbags. You are always welcome to bring your own, if preferred. 

What if I have an injury?

It is the responsibility of the student to notify teachers of any previous injury, illness, or conditions that may impact their practice. We are here to help, but we are not qualified to diagnose any injuries or illness so your physician and your own intuition are the first lines of defense when working with an injury. Classes at hum yoga house may be physically strenuous and you voluntarily participate in them with full knowledge that there is risk.

Do you offer private classes?

Do you sell water or beverages?

We do not sell bottled water, but do have a filtered bottle refilling station. Don’t forget to bring your own bottle! We also offer a rotating assortment of curated wellness + energy beverages for purchase. 

Do you have childcare?

We do not offer childcare at hum yoga house nor can we allow any unsupervised minors to wait in the lobby during classes.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards. Purchases can be made on our website, app or in-studio. We are cashless. If you need to arrange a cash or card-free payment please email us hello@humyogahouse.com 

Payment must be made upon booking. Students will not be permitted to sign-up for a class, workshop, or event as unpaid unless it is a free or donation based class. unpaid classes or membership payments will be back-charged.

What is the policy for a canceled or missed class?

if you do not show up for a class, you will not be charged for it and you will be removed from the class. Any credits used to book the class will remain on your account.

If there is an exception to this rule, it will say so in the description of the class as well as at the time of purchase. For these exceptions you will be fully charged for a class that you sign-up for and do not attend or the class will be removed from your package. Those with unlimited packages will be charged the single drop-in rate for no-showing to a class under these terms. 

Workshop and event cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the start of the reserved workshop or event. If you do not attend or cancel within 24 hours of start time, you will be fully charged for the workshop and will not be able to use the credit for a future workshop. 

Do you give refunds? 

All purchases of services (classes, workshops, events and training) are non-refundable. Purchases of products and merchandise are only refundable in new and unused conditions up to 10 days after purchase.

How does the class credit work?

All class credits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Class credits are shareable and do not expire. We offer 6, 12 and 18 packs of class credits. These credits can be used to book any standard class at HYH.

How do unlimited memberships work?

Unlimited memberships give access to all standard classes at HYH. Unlimited weeks, months and years may not be shared. Single month unlimited membership expires 30 days after activation. Annual unlimited membership expires 365 days after activation. These memberships have no commitment or recurring charges. 

How do the monthly autopay memberships work?

Unlimited access to standard classes at HYH + discounts on merch, workshops and events + 1 guest pass per month ($24 value). 3-month minimum commitment required. Auto-renews cannot be shared. You will pay the same amount on the same day of your initial purchase, each month while under contract. Membership fees will automatically be charged to your credit card. You can update or change your credit card in your online account or in the studio. Your monthly membership fees will remain the same as your membership start date throughout your contracted period. Once your contract period has come to an end the membership fee will be charged at the rate at the time of the renewal. Your auto-renew can be canceled at any time after the initial 3 month commitment.

How can I  cancel my membership?

Your auto-renew can be canceled at any time in writing by emailing hello@humyogahouse.com. If you cancel, know that you may lose your existing rate. please allow 7 days to receive and process your cancellation request.

How do the gift cards work?

Gift cards can be redeemed for classes, workshops, programs, account credit, and/or retail purchases. Gift cards can be purchased and sent electronically through our online store or in-studio. Gift cards are non refundable and not redeemable for cash.
